Brahmi Sript- AUM and Swastika
·
Om symbol is described in Devanagri Script in our times.
·
The
concept of Om is far older than certain historians are willing to believe as
they exclude the fact that the word and more likely the symbology goes back to
the Brahmi Script of Ancient India.
·
In fact
the Swastika symbol of Ancient India shows resemblance to a combined lettering
in Brahmi Script which would mean Aum.
·
It would
make logical sense for this to be the case as “Swast” and “Tika” are words from
Indian Sanskrit and mean when combined, “Symbol of Good, or Good Fortune”.
Thus, the Aum when written in Devanagari Script is doing much the same on
a morphological level.
·
After
about 200 A.D. the symbol Aum began to resemble its current form. It has
sacred properties both in written form and spoken form which is even older.
